Overview
Subtitle and karaoke work in the ASS format is powerful and unpleasant: the effects are written by hand, and timing a song means nudging thousands of milliseconds.
makeass puts that work in a browser. Write and preview ASS directly, keep projects saved rather than scattered across files, and export a finished video. Automatic lyric alignment — matching written lines to the audio — is the piece being built now.
The editor, project storage, billing and file storage are written; connecting them to live services is the remaining step before the first release.
